New Delhi : PM Narendra Modi has condoled the passing away of veteran film maker and director Kundan Shah, 69, who died at his home early October 7, 2017, after suffering a heart attack.

“Anguished by the passing away of Shri Kundan Shah. He will be remembered for his wonderful usage of humour and satire to showcase the life and struggles of common citizens. My thoughts are with his family and admirers. May his soul rest in peace,” the Prime Minister said, according to a PIB release.

Kundan Shah made his feature film debut with `Jaane Bhi Do Yaaroon' in 1983. He had directed TV serial `Wagle Ki Duniya' in 1988. In 2000, he made hit film `Kya Kehna' starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.
