PM condoles loss of lives in Gujarat due to unseasonal rains

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his grief on the loss of lives due to unseasonal rains and storm in various parts of Gujarat.

“Anguished by the loss of lives due to unseasonal rains and storms in various parts of Gujarat. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. Authorities are monitoring the situation very closely. All possible assistance is being given to those affected,” the PM said.

The Prime Minister has approved an ex- gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives due to unseasonal rain and storms in various parts of Gujarat. The Prime Minister has also approved Rs 50,000 each to those injured due to unseasonal rain and storms in parts of Gujarat, according to a PIB release.

Eleven persons have reportedly died due to unseasonal rains in Gujarat.
