Pliskova crushes Martic to lift Zhengzhou Open title

Patna : World No 2 Karolina Pliskova, 27, Czech Republic, swept aside World No 23 Petra Martic, 28, Croatia, in the final to lift the singles title at Zhenzhou Open, a WTA Premier Event played on outdoor hard courts,  at Zhengzhou, China, her 4th title of the season and 15th overall.

Playing her fifth final of the year, top seed Pliskova beat 7th seed Petra Martic 6-3, 6-2 in the final to bag 470 WTA rankings points. Petra Martic got 305 points as runner-up.

Pliskoca fired 7 Aces in the match to 2 by the Croatian. Pliskova won 4 break points in the match to just 1 b y Martic. She also won 5 games in a row during the match to 2 by Martic. Karolina committed 3 double faults to 4 by the Croatias. Karolina won 38 service points to 28 by Martic. Martic, however, still leads Pliskova 4-2 Head to Head.
