Planning Deptt Under Secretary Rajiv Kumar shot dead at official flat

Patna : In a sensational incident, 3 unidentified criminals shot dead an Under Secretary of Planning and Development Department, Bihar Government, Rajiv Kumar, 59, around 5 am at his official residence at R-Bloc under Sachivalaya Police station, Patna. Rajiv Kumar was to retire from the Government service in June 2019.

The criminals entered his oficial flat and looted cash and jewellery after taking all the family member hostage at gun point. They fired on Rajiv Kumar while escaping. Rajiv was rushed to the hospital but died during the treatment. Rajiv Kumar, who got married only in 2004, is survived by a minor daughter and his wife.

Confirming the incident, DIG, Central Range, Rajesh Kumar, said that police have picked up 2-3 persons from adjoining slums for quizzing. Dog squad was also brought to the spot.
