Patna : World No 19 Khosit Phetpradab, Thailand, World No 20 B Sai Praneeth, 26, and Wordl No 55 Parupalli Kashyap, 32, both India, advanced to the quarter-finals of Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2019, an HSBC Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Super 500 level tournament, at Siri Fort Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, India, on March 28, 2019.

Phetpradab beat World No 36 Sitthikom Thammasin, Thailand, in a tough three-game contest 21-19, 12-21, 21-18 in 65 minutes in the 2nd round on March 28. Sitthikom, however, won 58 rallies in the match to 54 by Phetpradab. Both the players won 5 consecutive points each in the match.

Praneeth beat World No 15 Sameer Verma, 24, India, in a three-game thriller 18-21, 21-16, 21-15 in 71 minutes in the 2nd round. Praneeth lost the first game but rallied back strongly to win the next two two to advance to the QFs. Praneeth won 60 rallies in the match to 52 by Sameer. Praneeth won 7 consecutive points in the match to 6 by Sameer. Praneeth now leads Sameer 4-2 head to head.

World No 55 Kashyap beat World No 58 Tanongsak Saensonboonsuk, 28, Thailand, 21-11, 21-13 in 37 minutes in the second round to enter the QFs. Kashyap won 42 rallies in the match to 24 by Tanongsak. He won 6 consecutive points in the match to 4 by his Tanongsak. Kashyap now leads Tanongsak 5-4 heade to head.
