New Delhi : The President of India on July 20, 2019, transferred the Governors of two states and appointed Governor for four states. Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Madhya Pradesh replacing Anandiben Patel.  Anandiben Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, has been transferred and appointed as Governor of Uttar Pradesh replacing Ram Naik.

Phagu Chauhan, 71,  has been appointed as Governor of Bihar. He is a BJP MLA from Ghosi in Mau district Uttar Pradesh. He is a six term MLA. He was first elected MLA in 1989 as DMKP nominee.

Noted lawyer and former MP Jagdeep Dhankhar has been appointed as the West Bengal Governor replacing Keshrinath Tripathi while Ramesh Bais has been appointed as Governor of Tripura. R N Rav, a former interlocutor on Naga talks, has been appointed as Governor of Nagaland. These appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, according to a PIB release.
