Performance on Orchestra marks Day 2 of DPS Bokaro Cultural Week, Sutlej House winner

Bokaro ( Jharkhand)  : Magical synchronisation of rhythm and euphony where the participants of Inter-House Orchestra Competition performed on the theme ‘Indian Folk Music’ marked the day-two of the cultural week at DPS Bokaro  on July 29, 2019.

Sutlej House emerged as the winner for its performance on the theme ‘Bhangra’ on orchestra while Jamuna secured the second position with their theme being ‘Lavani’, also on orchestra. The third position was shared by Ganga and Jhelum House with ‘their theme being ‘Chotanagpuri’ and ‘Garba’ on orchestra respectively.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was Chinu Tandon. She said that not only as a Chief Guest but also as a parent she is highly impressed by the mesmerising performance of the students who were completely involved in putting their best foot forward. She added that no one can impose culture on any individual, culture is imbibed. If one wants to preserve culture one must cultivate it.

Addressing the gathering, Principal, DPS Bokaro, A S  Gangwar, said music is divine. Appreciating the dedication and hard work of the students and mentors, he remarked, “There is no short cut to success and one must be humble, honest, and hardworking to achieve success in life.”
