Patna: Patna Police on Sunday raided a house on Chandmari Road and busted a sex racket running there for the past one- and- a- half month. Police arrested eight persons including four girls besides seizing objectionable items including condoms, stimulants, cellphones and cash from there.
Police said that Senior SP (SSP), Patna, Manu Maharaaj, had recently directed SHOs of all police stations of the district to constitute a
special team under Operation Vishwas to check atrocities on girls and women. This was also done to instill faith among the people in police,sources said.
Police said that SSP had recently received inputs that sex racket was being run under the jurisdiction of Kankerbagh police station. He
immediately directed SHO, Kankerbagh, and a female police officer to verify the information. Police said that as per the directive, both the police officials kept an eye over the movement of some unknown people found hovering around the house of one Ashok Kumar, close to DPS College on Chandmari Road. A police team on Sunday raided a rented flat of the landlord and found Sanjay Kumar (Karbigahiya under Jakkanpur ps), Hamid Kumar Alamganj Chowk under Sultanganj ps), Rajan (Alamganj Chowk
under Sultanganaj ps) and Vikash Kumar Singh Barbigha under Birpurs ps in Sheikhpura district) in compromising position. Police also arrested four women including the mastermind of the racket.

SSP said that during interrogation, the cops came to know that the headof the racket Julie Khatoon (name changed) used to lure girls
in the name of providing them jobs at Patna but pushed them into this racket. He said that the arrested women told the police that Julie used to charge Rs 2,000 each from the customers and they used to get only Rsher. 500. The rest amount was kept by her, he said.
The SSP said that Julie used to provide false liquor at higher price. He said that the cops interrogating the women also came to know
that Julie used to upload the photographs of the girls on WhatsApp and lured the customers.

The SSP said that action would be taken against the landlord under sections of Human Trafficking Act. He said that police recovered 20 packets of condoms, packets of stimulants and cigarette, five packets of Shilajeet (stimulant drug), four cellphones besides Rs 5,000 cash from there.
