Patna: Patna police, on a tip off, on Monday arrested three more accused of Ashok Jaiswal murder case from village Jhakhri Mahadev under Danapur police station and seized two countrymade pistols, six live cartridges and three mobile phones from their possession. They were arrested while planning to loot a cash van in the area.
The three arrested criminals were identified as Ramesh alias Chotka alias Makhna of Kalisthan, Danapur, Sunni Paswan alias Chotka Sunni, B K Babu gali, Danapur, and Vikas Kumar, Mithila colony, Danapur, Patna district. They were involved in over two dozen cases of major crime, police said. All the three arrested criminals are active members of Makhna gang and are known as contract killers, police said. Police had earlier arrested nine criminals after Ashok Jaiswal’s murder.
Ashok Jaiswal, who had contested 2015 assembly elections as an independent, was shot dead at his ancestral Gola Road, Danapur, residence by criminals on August 17, 2016. Ashok had love marriage and was shot dead soon after his marriage apparently to take revenge. SSP, Patna, had constituted a team headed by SDPO, Danapur, to arrest the remaining accused of the case.
Police had received information that the three criminals along with other members of the gang had gathered at the newly constructed house of Ram Kumar at Jhakhri Mahadev and were planning to loot some cash van. SSP, Patna, asked the police team to arrest the criminals before they commit any crime. Police immediately surrounded the house. Seeing the police, the criminals tried to escape but cops chased them and arrested three criminals. The SSP will reward the members of the police which arrested the three criminals.
