Panchayat Samiti member kidnapped in presence of police in Rohtas

Bikramganj (Rohtas): Some miscreants kidnapped Rajesh Kumar, panchayat samiti member of Goshaldih panchayat under Suryapura block under Bikramganj sub-division in Rohtas district on Thursday from the gate of the block headquarters in the presence of  police  just before the election of block pramukh.

Later, police came into action and borders of Bikramganj sub-division were sealed and conducted raids at different places to recover the panchayat samiti member. As a result, election for the block pramukh was postponed till Rajesh Kumar was recovered. SDO Rajesh Kumar said that it was great lapses on part of police and he would complain to the DM and the SP in this regard. He said the election commission had ordered to postpone the election in the event of horse trading or influencing the voters in one way or other. DSP Neeraj Kumar Singh said an FIR has been lodged and hoped the panchayat samiti member would be recovered soon.
