Ara: Hundreds of villagers blocked Ara-Sasaram main road near Nonar mor in Bhojpur district for about three hours and paralyzed movement of traffic on Friday. They burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against the officials of the South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL). The villagers blocked the road to protest the delay in installation of transformer despite several reminders due to which they were not getting power for the last one month in this humid condition. They said they would resort to more aggressive agitation if transformer was not installed within two days.
235 rice bags seized: Ara: Bhojpur police, on a tip off, onducted raid in an area under Town police station on Friday and seized 235 bags of rice meant for the Food Corporation of India (FCI) loaded on two trucks, said the SHO Town police station S K Sahi. Police also seized the trucks.
