Patna : Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 94 runs in 42nd match of CWC at Lord’s, London, on July 5, 2019, fast bowler Shaeen Afridi taking 6/35 in 9.1 overs, the best figure for a Pakistani bowler in a World Cups, and spinner Shadab Khan taking 2/59 in 9 overs. Fast bowlers : Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir, took one wicket each. Pakistan, however, failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament. Pakistan would have reached the SFs had they bowled out Bangaladesh for just 7 runs. Shaheen Afridi was declared Player of the Match.
Replying to Pakistan’s 315/9 in 50 overs, Bangladesh were all out for 221 in 44.1 overs with all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scoring 64 in 77 balls hitting 6 fours, Litton Das scoring 32, and Mahmudullah 29.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Pakistan scored 315/9 with opener Imam-ul-Haq scoring 100 in 100 balls hitting 7 fours and Babar Azam scoring 96 in 98 balls with 11 fours. For Bangladesh, fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman took 5/75 in 10 overs.
