Patna : Pakistan beat Australia by 66 runs in the first T20I at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on October 24, 2018, night, riding on superb spin bowling by bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim, 29, who was declared Man of the Match.
Australia won the toss but opted to bowl. Pakistan scored 155/8 in 20 overs with opener Babr Azam making 68 in 55 ball with 5 fours and a six and Mohammad Hafeez 39 in 30 with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Hasan Ali remained unbeaten on 17in 8 ball with 2 fours and a six. Captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, and Imad Wasim were out for duck.
For Australia, Billy Stanlake and Andrew Tye took three wickets each. Adam Zampa and D Arcy Short took one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 156, Australia were all out for 89 in 16.5 overs with Nathan Coulter-Nile scoring 34 in 29 ball with 6 fours. Captain Aaron Finch and Ben McDermott were out without scoring. Ashton Agar made 19 and Chris Lynn 14. The 2nd T20I is scheduled for October 26, 2018.
