Patna : Pakistan declared their first innings at 418/5 in 167 overs on the second day in the second test against New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on November 25, 2018, with Haris Sohail scoring 147, his second test century, and Babar Azam an unbeaten 127, his first test ton. Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 30.
Azhar Ali was run out for 81 while Asad Shafiq was out for 12. Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez scored 9 each. Resuming at their overnight score of 207/4, Pakistan added 211 run losing just one wicket on the second day before making a surprise declaration.
For New Zealand, Colin de Grandhomme took 2/30 in 30 overs while Trent Boult took 1/106 in 34 overs. Spinner Ajaz Patel took 1/120 in 39 overs.
New Zealand were 24/0 in 9 overs at stumps on day 2 in their first innings with Jeet Raval batting on 17 and Tom Latham batting on 5. New Zealand are trailing by 394 runs. New Zealand had won the first test by 4 runs.
