Patna : Pakistan defeated New Zealand by an innings and 16 runs in the second test at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on November 27, 2018, to level the three-match test series 1-1. New Zealand had won the first test by 4 runs. Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah took 6/143 in 44.5 overs in New Zealand second innings taking his tally to 14 wickets in the match. Yasir had taken 8/41 in New Zealand first innings. Yasir was declared Player of the Match. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson described Yasir as an exceptional bowler.

New Zealand were all out for 90 in their first innings. Pakistan had declared their first innings at 418/5 with Haris Sohail scoring 147 and Babar Azam an unbeaten 127.,

Resuming at their overnight score of 131/2, New Zealand were all for 312 in 112.5 in the third session of the play on the fourth day of the second test with Ross Taylor scoring 82, Henry Nicholls 77, Tom Latham 50, captain n Kane Williamson 30, and wicketkeeper W J Watling 27. While Yasir Shah took six wickets, fast bowler Hasan Ali took 3/46. Bilal Asif took 1/61.
