Padma Shri Ashok Bhagat lauds DPS Bokaro

Bokaro ( Jharkhand) : Lauding Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro branding it as not only as the best in Jharkhand state but also as one of the best schools in the country where students feel to be proud studying at, Padamshree awardee social worker and Chief Guest Ashok Bhagat on July 2, 2018, asked the students to remain the flag bearers in all spheres of life not only at national level but even at global level bringing laurels to the school in whichever profession they opt for.

Ashok Bhagat was addressing students, teachers, Principals and other guests on the grand occasion of 32^nd Foundation Day of the school organised here with great fanfare on the school campus. Praising the holistic education being imparted to students giving them space to learn, experiment and inquire in the field of agriculture, music, culture, sports besides giving them tips for saving the environment, Bhagat told the students that they lucky to study in a school like DPS Bokaro which is among the few counted in the country. Bhagat asked them ti take pledge to serve 80 percent of the population of the country which lacks quality schools.

“Development and growth of tribal, women and downtrodden living in villages constituting 80 percent of our population is necessary to bring happiness on faces of have-nots who are craving for quality education,” remarked Bhagat.

Welcoming  Ashok Bhagat on this occasion, whose presence made the function so special and inspiring for the students, Director & Principal, DPS, Bokaro, Dr Hemlata S Mohan stated that her motto and mission in DPS is not only to prepare students to get excellent grades at the examinations but to groom them good human beings and resourceful professionals to help in development of a  progressive society and be instrumental in building the nation.

“The holistic development of a child is carried out with intense planning at DPS not only academically but in all spheres of life be it culture, art, protecting the environment or working for social cause,” said Dr Mohan.

Addressing the students, Guest of Honour, Pro Vice Chairman, DPS, Bokaro, Suresh Kumar Aggarwal asked the students to cultivate habit of learning which always play an important role in every sphere of life.

Earlier the chief guest Ashok Bhagat along with Dr. Mohan inaugurated the Wellness and Life Skill Club, ‘Anand Kachha’.

The function began with a welcome song followed by cultural programme after which scores of students were given certificates and award not only in field of academic excellence but also those who never remain absent in their school life including one who never remained absent in last fourteen years.

The Primary wing students presented a creative dance which was followed by the prize distribution for the students from classes VI to VIII and later the chief guest distributed uniforms and reading materials to Deepansh school students run for the underprivileged under the aegis of DPS Bokaro.

A special presentation of the song of the year ‘Hoga Kal Sunehera’ brought a mystic spell over the gathering. It was followed by the prize distribution for the students from classes IX to XI in various categories.

On this occasion, a special programme was also organised by the Deepansh students as the day marked the foundation day of this institute as well. The alumni of Deepansh had also gathered and relived their school days. Dr Mohan while addressing the gathering at ‘Deepansh’ stated that to excel in life knowledge and skills are needed.

Aother programme was held by Primary school students at sector v where the chief guest Executive Director (Projects), Bokaro Steel Limited, R C Srivastav, gave away regularity award to scores of students.
