Over Rs 11.61 lakh drwan from account of BSFC, Saharsa, fraudulently

Saharsa : The Manager of Saharsa unit of Bihar State Food Corporation (BSFC) on April 11, 2017, lodged an FIR with Sadar police station against Bank of India, Saharsa branch, in connection with fraudulent drawal of over Rs 11.61 lkah from the account of the corporation on three dates in March 2017. The FIR was lodged by the District Manager of the corporation Santosh Kumar Singh. The amount was allegedly drawn in the name of Rohit Rastogi and Archana Devi between March 18 and March 24, 2017, through cheque.

The fraud was detected on April 6, 2017, by Assistant Accounts Officer of the corporation while examining the bank statement. The Assistant Accounts Officer informed the bank manager about it and the District Manager Singh of the corporation, in a communication to the Bank Manager, demanded return of the amount.

Santosh Kumar Singh also met the bank manager on April 10. The bank manager showed him the cheques. Santosh Singh was shocked as the serial number of the cheque presented before him by the bank matched the serial number of the cheque -book available with the corporation. The other cheque-book was never given to the corporation, Singh said alleging the amount was drawn using fake cheque-book which was not possible without the connivance of some bank employees.
