Ara : When the nation is celebrating ‘Teachers’ Day’ to mark the birth anniversary of former President of India and a renowned educationist Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, over 4 lakh school Primary and Middle School students in Bhojpur district will appear at the half- yearly examination scheduled to start from  October 5, 2017, without getting books allegedly due to apathetic attitude of the officials of the education department.

The Education Department has announced dates for the half- yearly examination for Primary and Middle schools in Bhojpur district which will be held from October 5 to October 11, 2017, but the education department has not distributed books among the students even after six months of the academic session forcing over 4 lakh students to take examination without study.

The guardians of the students including Kamlesh Singh, Sarita Singh and Neha Kumari said that the education department never give books on time. They said they can’t afford sending their children to private schools and so  admit them to the government schools but neither the teachers bother to teach them nor the education department officials take any action to maintain academic atmosphere at schools.

District Education Officer, Bhojpur, Avanindra Kumar Sinha said that books were not published on time and so they could not be available for the students. He said the books are expected to be available very soon will be distributed among the students. He, however, admitted that teaching of students was hampered due to non-availability of books.
