CBI arrests MMC Councillor Rakesh K Sinha in Navruna kidnapping case

Muzaffarpur : The CBI on September 4, 2017, arrested Councillor of ard Number 23 of Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation (MMC) Rakesh Kumar Sinha alias Pappu in connection with Navruna kidnapping case. Navuna, a minor girl,  was kidnapped on August 17, 2012, late night from her Jawaharlal Road residence at Muzaffarpur and is traceless since then.

The CBI sleuths arrested Rakesh Kumar Sinha near his Muzaffarpur residence and took him to Patna and interrogating him at an undisclosed place. He is likely to be produced before the Special CBI Court on September 5. The CBI had asked for detail information including criminal antecedents, if any,  about Rakesh and his relative, a former MLA, from Muzaffarpur SSP Vivek Kumar on August 29, 2017. Navruna’s kin have alleged that she was kidnapped for property. The CBI is probing the case since February 2014 following the Supreme Court directive.
