Patna : The opposition BJP members on February 27, 2017, created noisy scenes in the Bihar assembly demanding a CBI probe into the Bihar staff selection commission (BSSC) recruitment examinations scam. Led by leader of opposition Prem Kumar, opposition members shouted slogans and entered the well of the House to press for their demand.
Prem Kumar said the arrested BSSC chairman Sudhir Kumar had alleged involvement of the senior bureaucrats and ministers in the recruitment scam. CM Nitish Kumar should reveal their names and them arrested, Prem Kumar demanded. The chief minister was not present in the House. Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhury made repeated appeals to the agitating members to resume their seats and facilitate smooth functioning of the House.
Outside the House, former chief minister Jeetan Ram Manjhi talking to media persons defended BSSC chairman Sudhir KUmar and said he was an honest officer. He alleged principal secretary to chief minister Chanchal Kumar was instrumental in the arrest of Sudhir Kumar. Manjhi alleged that as DM, Sudhir Kumar had got arrested father-in-law of Chanchal Kumar 15-16 years back. Chanchal took revenge from Sudhir, Manjhi alleged. Sudhir Kumar was home secretary when Manjhi was CM.
