New Delhi : India Meteorological Department (IMD) provides operational air quality information for general public and pollution control authorities. These forecasts are made available on the websites; https://mausam.imd.gov.in and https://ews.tropmet.res.in.
The SAFAR-Air web application developed by the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune, gives location specific air quality index and advisory in four metropolitan cities (Delhi, Pune, Mumbai and Ahmedabad). Information or awareness campaign may be available from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) & Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change (MoEF& CC). Air quality information is being provided in the following cities: New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Pune.
Operational air quality information service is being extended to the following cities: Varanasi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Patna.
This information was given by the Minister of State (I/C) for M/o Earth Sciences and M/o Science & Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply in Lok Sabha on February 9, 2022, according to a PIB release.
