New Delhi : Only 10,064 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours taking the tally to 1,05,81,837 cases in the country at 8 am on January 19, 2021. In sharp contrast, 17,411 Covid-19 patients were declared cured/discharged in last 24 hours in the country taking the tally to 1,02,28,753 at 8 am on January 19, 2021, exceeding the number of active cases ( 2,00,528) by a stupendous margin of 1,00,28,225. The active cases accounted for just 1.9% of the total cases ( 1,05,81,837) on January 19, 2021, a drop of 7,484 cases in last 24 hours.
Of the 1,05,81,837 Covid-19 cases recorded so far in India, altogether 1,02,28,753 patients have been declared cured with the recovery rate (RR) being 96.66% on January 19, 2021. India has tested 18,78,02,827 samples so far including 7,09,791 samples on January 18, 2021.
The Covid-19 toll climbed to 1,52,556 i n India on January 19, 2021, with 137 new deaths being recorded in the country in last 24 hours including 35 in Maharashtra, 17 in Kerala, 10 in West Bengal, 9 in Karnataka, 8 from Delhi, 8 in Tamilnadu, 7 in Chhattisgarh, 6 in Uttarakhand, 5 in Punjab, 4 in Haryana, 4 in Jharkhand, 4 in Uttar Pradesh, 3 in Bihar, 3 in Madhya Pradesh, 3 in Rajasthan, 2 in Gujarat, and 1 in Andhra Pradesh. India had recorded 145 new deaths on January 18, 2021.
