Patna : Chasing a victory target of 328 runs, India were 304/5 after 94 overs in their 2nd innings on Day 5 on January 19, 2021, in 4th test against Australua at The Gabba,  Brisbne, Australia, with Rishabh pant (wk) unbeaten on 71 with 7 fours and 1 six and all-rounder Washington Sundar batting on 21 with 2 four and 1 six. India need 24 runs  in 6 overs to win the 4th test. Opener Shubman Gil scored 91 runs.

Resuming at their overnight score of 4/0, India lost their first wicket that of opener Rohit Sharma (vice-captain) at 18. Rohit fell to Pat Cummins for 7 making it 18/1. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara added 114 runs for the 2nd wicket. Gill fell to spinner Nathan Lyon for 91 in 146 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes and it was 132/2.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane fell to Pat Cummins for 24 in 22 ballswith 1 four and 1 six making it 167/3. Pujara and Rishabh pant added 61 runs for the 4th wicket. Pujara fell to Cummins for 56 in 211 balls with 7 fours and it was 228/4. Pujara played a master class innings in an extremely challenging situation.  Mayank Agarwal fell to Cummins for 9 making it 265/5.
