Motihari : One person was stabbed to death and 6 0thers including a woman were seriously injured in a fierce clash between two groups of villagers of the same community on Monday evening at village Sapahi-Dawudpur under Pachpakardi police station in East
Champaran.Tension prevais at the village and police are camping there. Raids are on to nab the culprits but they are evading arrest.
Acoording to report, the daughter of one Mohd Gafoor of the village was to be married and Gafoor had installed a sound system blaring music and songs at high volume for 24 hours. Jamil Ahamad, his next door neighbor with ten others asked Mohd Gafoor to stop this nuisance but thelatter rejected it. It led to a heated exchange between them followed by a clash in which one Mohd Shakil, a relative of Gafoor, was stabbed to death and 6 other persons including Rabari Khatoon were seriously injured .The attackers also set afire the Pandal eracted for function at the door of Mohd Gafoor’s house. All
the injured were hospitalized at Dhaka.
Mohd Gafoor has lodged a case in this regard against Jamil Ahamad and others. Shambhu Kumar,SHO of Pachpakadi police station, said the acussed are evading arrest but
would be arrested soon.
