One more doctor gets extortion message, Rs 1 crore demanded

Patna: Dr Hemant Kumar Verma, a paediatrician having clinic at Kankarbagh colony, has received an extortion message asking him to pay Rs one crore to the caller or face dire consequences. Dr Verma, who  filed a first information report with  Kankarbagh police station, claimed he got the message on Tuesday night. Police have started investigation into the complaint. Dr Verma’s clinic and residence is located close to Gayatri temple and 400 metres away from Kankarbagh police station.Two days back, Dr A K Singh, owner of a chain of private hospitals in Bihar, had also received an extortion letter asking him to pay Rs 50 lakh to the caller.
