Patna: Bihar cabinet, at its meeting on Wednesday, decided to amend the Bihar Jail Manual,2012. The meeting chaired by CM Nitish Kumar took the decision to amend the manual as suggested by the Supreme Court on July 23, 2015, in union of India versus v Sridharan. The Cabinet approved 14 proposals mostly of Revenue and Land Reforms department. One of the proposals of general administration department was also approved. It allows promotion of Section Officers in state secretariat as Under Secretaries.
