One killed, five injured in Saharsa accident

Saharsa :A woman Mohmul Khatoo died and five others including four women were injured on February 4 when a truck coming from opposite direction collided with the auto they were travelling by near Rahuamani Chowk close to Bariahi Bazaar on NH 107 in Saharsa district due to dense fog. The injured were admitted to Saharsa Sadar hospital.

The truck, which was carrying sand, was seized along with the auto by Bangaon police station, Saharsa. But, the truck driver managed to escape. Those injured included Gita Devi, Kalavati Devi, Noorjehan Khatoon, Babloo Rai and a pregnant woman Pinki. Gita and Kalawati, both residents of village Khajuri under Simri Bakhtiarpur block in Saharsa district were taking Pinki to Saharsa Sadar hospital for delivery by auto. Noorjehan was going to Purnia with her mother Mohmul Khatoon for treatment and they had to catch a train at Saharsa railway station. But, Mohmul died on the spot. Bangaon police station SHO Prabhash Kumar reached the spoot soon after the accident. Later on, Pinki delivered a child at Sadar hospital.
