Old Power House, Gandak Project, Valmikinagar, worker dies due to electrocution

Bagaha: Najib Mian, a Muster Roll at old Power House, Gandak Project, Valmikinagar, under Valmikinagar police station in Bagaha police district, died due to electrocution on May 19, 2019, when he touched a live electric wire while climbing an electric pole.

An irate mob of villagers blocked Valmikinagar -Bagaha road near 3rd RD of Tihrut Main Canal for an hour on May 20  morning after placing the body on the road although Rs 50,000 as gratuitous relief was provided by the Gandak Project office to the next of kin of the deceased. The blockade was, however, lifted after a case was lodged by deceased’s wife Rukhsana Tarannum with  Valmikinagar police station  in this connection.Block Development Officer (BDO), Bagaha-2nd block,  Pranav Giri was reached the spot and pacified the protesters.
