Patna : World No 9 Saina Nehwal, India, crashed out of the Singapore Open 2019, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500 category tournament, at Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore, on April 12, 2019, losing to World No 3 Nozomi Okuhara, Japan, the 2017 World Champion, in the quarter-finals.
Okuhara, the second seed, comfortably beat Saina, the 6th seed, 21-8, 21-13 in 36 minutes in the quarter-finals. Okuhara won 42 rallies in te match to 21 by Saina.Pkuhara won 9 consecutive points in the match to 4 by Saina. Saina, however, still leads Okuhara 9-5 head to head.
