Gurugram (Haryana) : New Zealand (NZ) restricted Australia to 243/9 in 50 overs in the 37th match of CWC at Lord’s, London, with fast bowler Trent Boult taking 4/51 in 10 overs including a hat-trick in the 50th over. Fast bowlers : Lockie Ferguson and James Neesham, took two wickets each while captain Kane  Williamson took 1/25 in 7 overs. Boult became the first cricketer from NZ to take a hat-trick in the Cricket World Cup. Boult took the wickets of Usman Khawaja, Mitchell Starc, and Jason Behrendorff on three successive balls in his 10th over.

Australia elected to bat after winning the toss. But, openers David Warner and Aaron Finch (captain), failed to give a good start start to Australia getting out for 16 and 8 runs respectively. Steven Smith fell to Lockie Ferguson for 5 making it 46/3 while Marcus Stoinis fell to Janes Neesham for 21 making it 81/4.  Usman Khawaja scored 88 in 129 balls hitting 5 fours while Alex carey (wk) scored 71 in 72 balls with 11 fours.
