Patna : New Zealand (NZ) beat India by 6 wickets in an ICC World Cup warm-up match at Kennington Oval, London, on May 25, 2019, night, with captain Kane Williamson scoring 67 in 87 balls hitting 6 fours and a six and Ross Taylor scoring 71 in 75 balls with 8 fours. Replying to India’s 179 all out in 39.2 overs, New Zealand scored 180/4 in 37.1 overs. Openers Martin Guptil and Colin Munro scored 22 and 4 runs respectively.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each. Bumrah took 1/2 in 4 overs.

Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, India made a disastrous start losing their first 4 wickets for only 39 runs on board. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was the highest scorer for India making 54 in 50 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. All-rounder Hardik Pandya made 30 in 37 balls with 6 fours while M S Dhoni made 17 in 42 balls with just 1 four. Pandya and Dhoni added 38 runs for the 5th wicket.

Openers Rohit Sharm and a Shikhar Dhawan scored 2 each making it 10/2. Both of them fell to fast bowler Trent Boult. Lokesh Rahul also fell to Boult for 6 making it 24/3. Captain Virat Kohli fell to Colin de Grandhomme for 18 in 24 balls with 3 fours and it was 39/4. Dinesh Karthik fell to James Neesham for 4. Jadeja, who fell to fast bowler Lockie Ferguson, added 62 runs with spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who scored 19 in 36 balls with 2 fours.

For New Zealand, Trent Boult took 4/33 in 6.2 overs while medium pace bowler James Neesham took 3/26 in 6 overs. Tim Southee took 1/26 in 7 overs while Grandhomme took 1/12 in 6 overs. Lockie Ferguson took 1/33 in 8 overs.
