Patna : New Zealand (NZ) beat Bangladesh by 88 runs in the 3rd ODI at University Oval, Dunedin, New Zealand, on February 20, 2019, to win the 3-match series 3-0. Bangladesh won the toss but opted to bowl. Batting first, New Zealand scored  330/6 in 50 overs with Ross Taylor scoring 69 in 82 balls with 7 fours, Henry Nicholls scoring 64 in 74 balls with 7 fours, and captain and wicketkeeper Tom Latham scoring 59 in 51 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. NZ fast bowler Tim Southee was named Player of the match while opener Martin Guptil, who had scored century in the first two ODIs,  was named Player of the Series.

New Zealand openers Martin Guptil and Colin Munro scored 29 and 8 run respectively while James Neesham scored 37 in 24 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme remained unbeaten on 37 in 15 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Mitchell Santner remained not out on 16 in 9 balls with a six. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman took 2/93 in 10 overs. Captain Mashrafe Mortaza took 1/51.

Chasing a target of 331, Bangladesh were all out for 242 in 47.2 overs with fast bowler Tim Southee taking 6/65 in 9.2 overs and Trent Boult 2/37 in 9 overs. Grandhomme took 1/18 in 5 overs. Sabbir Rahman scored 102 in 110 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes, his first ODI ton, while Mohammad Saifuddin scored 44 in 63 balls with 4 fours. Mehidy Hasan made 37 in 34 balls with 7 fours. Openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das (wk) fell to Southee for 0 and 1 respectively.
