Muzaffarpur: The number of Dengue cases has increased to 15 in Muzaffarpur district of which four are from Muzaffarpur town. The number of Chikungunya cases, on the other hand, has increased to eight in the district of which two belong to Muzaffarpur town. The increase in Dengue and Chikungunya cases has triggered panic among the people. A professor of Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, is also suffering from Chikungunya and is under treatment.

Muzaffarpur Civil Surgeon Dr Lalita Singh and District Malalria Officer Dr Satish Kumar have asked the people to take preventive measures. They also stressed on creating awareness about the two diseases. Kala-azar expert Dr T K Jha said that if fogging was not done in the district and awareness drive not undertaken by the government, the Dengue cases will keep increasing in the district. Dr Braj Mohan and Dr B B Thakur also expressed similar views. BJP MLA from Muzaffarpur Suresh Sharma has demanded immediate fogging in the district. The local are very angry due to delay in fogging in the district including Muzaffarpur town.
