New Delhi : The 19th All India Police Shooting Competition-2018 organised by the National Security Guard (NSG) in the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board came to end with the closing ceremony and prize distribution function graced by Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of State (independent Charge) Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, who himself is an acclaimed international shooter and was the first individual Olympic Silver Medallist of the country in 2004 Athens Olympics. A large number of eminent personalities and senior officials from various departments/CAPFs were also present on the campus of Manesar Garrison.

Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore praised the professional conduct of the event and high standard of skills displayed by force personnel. He also expressed hope that good show at these events will manifest into better performance at international level also. More than 750 participants of 31 teams of State Police Force and CAPFs participated at this competition held from December 6 to 11, 2018.

After grueling competition for over 5 days and 13 different matches, Team of National Security Guard emerged victorious whereas Border Security Force was adjudged runners up. Constable Amit Kumar of BSF won the medal for Best Shot in Pistol and Asstt. Commander-II Sevan Singh of NSG won the medal for Best Shot in Carbine, according to a PIB release.
