Patna: NIT Patna director Ashok Dey unfurled the national flag on institute campus on Independence Day on Monday. Dey, in his speech on the occasion, highlighted the achievements of the institute including newsly established Student Activity Centre equipped with all mordern facilities for the recreation of students and the Innovation Centre to enhance the level of innovation of students. Dean Student Welfare, NIT, S K Verma also addressed the students.

The NIT Patna has organised several programmes to mark the I-Day. They include Essay Writing, Quiz and Patriotic Songs, Skit Play, Debate, Candle March, Face Painting, Rangoli and  Sit and Draw competitions. These programmes started on August 9 and will continue till August 24, 2016. Prizes for essay writing competition were distributed on Monday. The first prize of Rs 5,000 went to Ravina while the second prize of Rs 4,000 was bagged by Gautam Kumawat and the third prize of Rs 3,000 was given to Satyam Kanaojiya.
