Bagaha : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on December 12, 2017, reviewed at vilage Patilar the progress of schemes announced during his ‘Vikas Yatra’, which started on January 19, 2009, from this village under Bagaha Sub- division in West Champaran district. CM Nitish Kumar has now embarked on Samiksha Yatra, which again started from village Patilar.
Addressing public meeting at Patilar Harihar high school, the Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction on the completion of the schemes announced in January 2009. The CM said that prohibition, prevention of child marriage and abolition of dowry are very important social reforms. He exhorted the people to participate in the human chain to be formed on January 21, 2018, across the state for elimination of the social evils like dowry and child marriage.
The chief minister said that during his Vikas Yatra in 2009 he had announced many schemes for betterment of Tharuhat and they were nearing completion. On December 12, five tribal Residential Schools in Tharuhat located at Kadamahawa (Bagaha), Madarahani(Ramnagar), Belasandi, Ghamaurs (Gaunaha) and Mirimiria(Mainatand), were inaugurated.
On the demand for upgradation of Bagaha as a revenue district, Nitish said that he remembrs the assurance he had given to the people earlier in this regard and Bagaha would be the first when new districts are created.
The chief minister announced that Ramnagar Sugar Mill possesses 4,570 acre of surplus land though it has right over only 205 acre and other 33 decimal for seed development but the matter was awaiting the order of the Supreme Court (SC). The government would be able to distribute that surplus land only after the SC order on the matter, he said.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, DGP P K Thakur, Food and Consumer Protection Minister Madan Sahni and Sugarcane Development Minister Khurshid alias Firoz Ahmad besides West Champaran DM Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, and SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena.
The CM announced that he has called a meeting of all Principal Secretaries of the states besides the MPs, MLAs, MLCs from East Champaran and West Champaran districts at Motihari to review progress of different schemes being executed in the two districrts.
The chief minister on December 12 announced new schemes worth Rs 122 crore besides inaugurating completed schemes. He earlier also visited Patilar ward no.14, which was declared ODF under Swachh Bharat mission.
Valmikinagar MP Satishchandra Dubey, Rinku Singh, MLA from Valmikinagar, were also on dais. BJP MLA from Bagaha Raghav Sharan Pandey was jeered by the audience when he was addressing them. They also threw shoes during his address.
Nitish also addressed a public meeting at Kataiya under Lauria block in West Champaran district .
