Patna:  Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday  requested the union finance minister Arun Jaitely  to immediately release remaining fund of Rs 6,359.19 crore to the state under the special assistance promised by PM Narendra Modi last year.

In a letter addressed to Jaitely, the chief minister  said the fund was to be released under the backward region grant fund. This should be released immediately as this is the last financial year of 12th Plan, he said. Nitish also demanded immediate approval of  pending proposals before NITI Ayog worth Rs 856.91 crore due to cost overrun of projects sanctioned under enegy sector and for Rs 391 crore for underpass from Lalit Bhawan on Bailey Road to Vidyut Bhawan in Patna under road sector.
