Patna: JD(U) president and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has convened  an urgent meeting of office-bearers of the party at Patna on June 2. Announcing this , JD(U) general secretary K C Tyagi on Saturday said this would be the first meeting of party office- bearers after Nitish took over as the party president. He said issues like membership campaign would be discussed at the meeting.

Meanwhile, state JD(U president Bashistha Narain Singh, in  a statement here, said the only achievement of the two years of Narendra Modi led government was to defame Bihar. He said right from the prime minister to their state leaders every BJP leader had maligned the image  of Bihar during the last two years. PM Narendra Modi even questioned the DNA of Biharis and treated the state like a beggar by putting special package to Bihar in auction mood by saying Rs 50,000 crore, Rs 60,000 crore, Rs 80,000 crore, Singh claimed.” The prime minister has insulted Bihar and its leader Nitish Kumar repeatedly in the last two years,” Singh said.
He said the much publicised Rs 1.25 lakh  crore special package was yet to reach Bihar. NDA ministers are visiting Bihar every week just to abuse JD(U) leaders, he alleged..
