Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on June 2, 2019, expanded his Cabinet by adding eight new members to it. Governor Lalji Tandon administered oath of office and secretary to the 8 new members of the State Cabinet at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, at 11.30 am.

CM Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi, Speaker, Bihar Legislative Assembly, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Acting Chairman, Bihar Legislative Council, Mohd. Haroon Rashid, several Ministers and legislators were present on the occasion.   

The 8 Ministers administered oath on June 2 are : Narendra Narayan Yadav, Shyam Rajak, Ashok Chaudhary MLC, Bima Bharti, Sanjay Kumar Jha, MLC, Ramsevak Singh, Neeraj Kumar, MLC, and Laxemshwar Rai. All the new ministers are from JD(U) and have been made Cabinet Ministers. With the addition of 8 new minister, the number of Ministers has increased to 33.

Narendra Narayan Yadav, a senior legislator, has been allotted the portfolios of Minor Water Resources Department & Law Department while Shyam Rajak has been allotted Industry. Ashok Chaudhary has been given Building Construction Department while Bima Bharti gets Sugarcane Industry Department. Sanjay Kumar Jha has been allotted Water Resources Department while Ramsevak Singh gets Social Welfare Department. Neeraj Kumar has been allotted the portfolio of Information & Public Relation Department while Laxmeshwar Rai has been given Disaster Management Department.

Some changes have been made in the portfolios of six Ministers. Jai Kumar Singh has been allotted Science & Technology Department while Maheshwar Hazari gets Planning & Development Department. Pramod Kumar has been given Art, Culture & Youth Affair Department while Vinod Kumar Singh has been given Backward Class & Extremely Backward Class Welfare Department. Krishna Kumar Rishi gets Tourism Department while Braj Kishore Bind gets Mines & Geology Department. Agriculture Minister Prem Kumar has been given additional charge of Animal & Fisheries Resources Department.
