Patna : Qualifier and World No 77 Yoshihito Nishioka, 23, Japan, who had stunned compatriot and World No 5 Kei Nishikori, 29, in straight sets in 2nd round on August 14, 2019, upset World No 38 Alex de Minaur, 20, Australia, in the third round on August 15 to enter the quarter-finals of ATP Cincinnati Masters at Ohio, USA.
Nishioka beat Minaur 7-5, 6-4 in 82 minutes in 3rd round. Nishioka won break points in the match besides winning 3 games in a row. He won 47 service points to 40 by the Australian.
World No 56 Richard Gasquet, 33, France, upset World No 24 Diego Schwartzman, 26, Argentina, 7-6, 6-3 in 3rd round to advance to the quarter-finals of the hard courts event. Gasquet fired 11 Aces in the match to 2 by Schwartzman. Gasquet won 2 break points in the match to 1 by Schwartzman. Gasquet also won 5 games in a row in the match to 3 by Schwartzman. He also won 49 service points to 39 by Schwartzman.
