Patna : Top seed and World No 2 Ashleigh Barty, 23, Australia, defeated World No 20 Anett Kontaveit, 20, Estonia, in a three-set slugfest to reach the quarter-finals of WTA Cincinnati Open at Ohio, USA, on August 15, 2019, evening. Barty beat Kontaveit 4-6, 7-5, 7-5 in third round.

Barty fired 9 Aces in the match to 4 by Kontaveit. She, however, also committed 7 double faults to 2 by Kontaveit.The Australian won 6 break points in the match to 5 by Kontaveit.
