Patna : World No 12 in ATP rankings Kei Nishikori, 28, Japan, and World No 20 Milos Raonic, 27, Canada, and World No 31 Denis Shapovalov, 19, Canada, entered the quarter-finals of Japan Open 2018, an ATP World Tour 500 event, on October3, 2018, at Tokyo.

Shapovalov beat winner of three Grand Slam singles titles and World No 74 Stan Wawrinka, 33, in a tough three set contest 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 the Round of 16 on October 3.

Two time champion Kei Nishikori beat World No 63 Benoit Paire, 29, France, in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 to move into the quarter-finals of the event. Raonic beat qualifier Y Watanuki, Japan, 6-3, 7-6 in the Round of 16 to enter the QF. World No 32 Daniil Medvedev, 22, Russia, beat World No 51 Martin Klizan, 29, Slovakia, 6-4, 6-3 in the Round of 16. Raonic and Medvedev will clash in the QF on October 5, 2018.

World No 9 Kevin Anderson, 32, South Africa, World No 27 Nick Kyrgios, 23, Australia, and World No 38 Alex De Minaur, 19, Australia, entered the Round of 16 of the event on October 3.
