Ara : Nine persons including six women were injured when a speeding City Ride bus overturned after dashing a pole on road near village Malaur under Charpokhari police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar on June 8, 2021.
The injured were admitted to Charpokhari CHC. They were identified as Devanti Devi, wife of Shambhu Dayal Singh of Amai village under Hasan Bazaar police outpost; Sharda Devi, wife of Shiv Narayan Ram; Dhanrajia Devi, wife of Budhram; Sushila Devi, wife of Gupteshwar Ram of Dhanchhuha village under Chauri PS; Indrawati Devi, wife of Pintu Sah of Sarfoa village under Tarari police station; Mahendra Pandey and his wife Geeta Devi of Bhakura village under Tarari PS; Sudama Thakur, son of Budhan Thakur of Vaidkori village under Charpokhari PS, and Ram Ji Pal of Sitab Diara village in Saran District in North Bihar.
SHO, Charpokhari PS, said that an overcrowded City Ride bus was coming to Ara, headquarters of Bhojpur District, from Bikramganj in Rohtas District on June 8, 2021, morning, and when it reached village Malaur, a three -wheeler tried to overtake it and the bus driver lost control over the steering in his bid to save the three wheeler and in the process, the bus rammed a pole on roadside and overturned in which nine persons including six women were injured. Police are investigating the matter.
