Ara : Six armed miscreants riding three bikes shot dead a Plus +2 student near a petrol pump at Old Police Line under Ara Town police station (PS) on June 7, 2021, late evening.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Police also recovered a blank cartridge from the spot. The deceased was identified as Akash Kumar, 18, son of Hulas Prasad of Majhaua. An FIR has been lodged with Ara Town PS in this connection and police are investigating the matter. The reason behind the murder is not yet clear.
SHO, Ara Town PS, Shambhu Kumar Bhagat, said that Akash Kumar had a tiff with some youth of Shantinagar locality at Maulabagh but the issue had subsided. He further said that Akash Kumar along with his three friends had gone to Shivganj on June 7, 2021, evening, and when they were returning home on foot, six youth on three motorcycles reached near them and shot dead Akash Kumar and escaped.
