Patna: Senior SP (SSP), Patna, Manu Maharaaj on Saturday warned SHOs of different police stations of stern administrative action if they fail to constitute special teams at their respective police stations for carrying out drives to check sell of narcotics, illicit country-made liquor besides taking action against the warrantees. The SSP said that any laxity on the part of SHOs would not be tolerated.
The SSP said that after his directive, the SHOs carried out drives under their respective jurisdictions and seized huge quantity of illicit liquor and arrested nine persons including a woman in this connection. He said that Bihta police carried out raids and seized 400 litre countrymade mahua liquor from there. Altogether 30 liquor manufacturing units (bhattis) were demolished by the cops at Daulatpur, Ajgara, Sadisopur, Mushahari and Pali Mushahari under Bihta police station, he said adding that seven persons including a woman had been arrested in this connection.
The SSP said that Dhanarua police carried out raids and seized 1,500 litre countrymade liquor. He said that the cops also destroyed 20 drums of jawa extracted from mahua. He said that two persons had been arrested in this connection. The SSP suspected some of the seized liquor might be spurious. He said that SHOs would continue drive against sale and manufacture of liquor.
