Ara : Hundreds of activists of different Non Government Organizations (NGOs) including Lok Jagriti Ara, Geeta Mahila Utthan Samiti, Mahila Gram Shree, and Raja Ram Mohan Roy Smarak Sansthan, on February 15, 2019, took out a candle march from Ramana Maidan, Ara, that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at Ara railway station where they burnt the effigy of Prime Minister, Pakistan, Imran Khan.

The candle march was taken out in protest against cowardice attack on the CRPF personnel at Awantipora area in Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir on February 14, 2019, killing 43 CRPF personnel on the spot. The activists were raising slogans against Pakistan and demanded befitting reply to this coward act.

Expressing his anger, Secretary, Lok Jagriti Ara, condemned the incident and said that the matter requires a permanent solution. He said how long the army personnel would sacrifice their lives and such bloodshed continue. He said the entire country is united and demanded of the government to deal with the situation with iron hand.

Mani Pandey, Secretary, Geeta Mahila Uthan Samiti, said that the attack on CRPF personnel was orchestrated by Jaish-e-Mohammad, a Pakistan based and supported terrorist organisation proscribed by the United Nations and other countries.

Activists of the National Students of India (NSUI), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, Jan Adhikar Party, and NCP took out ‘Arthi’ procession of Prime Minister, Pakistan Imran Khan.
