Next of kin of 2 slain Homeguards jawans to get compensation, govt. jobs

Bagaha: Commandant, Homeguards, Patna, Chandan Kushwaha, along with Bagaha SP Arvind  Kumar Gupta on January 28, 2019, visited the spot under Naurangia Done Forest sector No. 28, where two Homeguards jawans : Arjuna Yadav and Harilal Kushwaha, were hacked to death by poachers numbering around 25 on January 27, 2019, early morning. Another Homeguards jawan Pradeep Mahato had also sustained injuries in the attack. Arjuna Yadav, Harilal Kushwaha, and Pradepp Mahto along with for other jawans were on patrolling duty and had arrested a poacher when they were attacked by a gang of poachers.

Commandant, Homeguards, Chandan Kushwaha, said that he will meet the family members of the two slain Homeguards jawans and provide compensation to their next of kin as per rule. One of the dependents each of the two slain Homegurads jawns would also get a government job.

Bagaha SP Arvind Kumar Gupta said that three accused of the incident : Harindar  Oraon of Singarahawa Done village and Rudal Got and  Hari Got of Kamarchhinawa village  under Gobarahiya police station in Bagaha  police district, had been arrested. SP Gupta said that Harendar  Oraon was involved in four wildlife hunting cases as well as a case under Arms Act. Director, Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR), Conservator of Forests Hemkant Rai could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
