Patna : Bihar governor-cum- Chancellor of state universities Ram Nath Kovind on January 23, 2017, appointed new vice-chancellors (VCs) for two universities : Jai Prakash University (JPU), Chhapra, and Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara. Professor Harikesh Singh has been appointed VC of JPU, Chhapra, while Professor Syed Mumtazuddin has been appointed VC of VKSU, Ara.
Their tenure will be of three years and start from the day they assume charge of their new assignment. Both the VCs have been appointed on the basis of discussion held with the state government in the light of recommendations made by the Search Committee constituted for the purpose and interaction with the aspirants figuring in the panel.
