Bagaha : General Manager (GM),  North East Railways (NER), Gorakhpur, Rajiv Mishra accompanied by Divisional Railway manager (DRM), Varanasi SK Kasyap, Chief security officer SK Avishek, Mechanical engineer rail SK Singh ,and public relation officer Himanshu Rao inspected Bagaha-Chhitauni Gandak Rail cum Road bridge located on Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border on January 11 afternoon. Dozens of bolts of the both the tracks crossing over the bridge were found loose and wooden rail sleepers not fixed properly during inspection.

The GM was  surprised to see the negligence and withheld one month’s salary of a rail tracks work inspector Nirmal  Kumar. The GM also learnt about proposed Paniyahawa-Tamakuhi road via Madhubani broadgauge rail line on Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border the foundation of which was laid by the then rail minister Lalu Prasad in 2007 at Chhitauni.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by Raju Tulasyan and Ajay Govind Rao met the GM at Bagaha- Chhitauni Gandak rail bridge and submitted a memorandum to him demanding stoppage of Sapkranti super fast train, waiting room for passengers, toilet facilities and expansion of platform at Khadda railway station and restoration of railway track at old Chhitauni railway station.
