Ranchi ( Jharkhand) : The 5th and final phase of election in 16 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) spread over six districts : Sahebganj, Pakur, Dumka, Jamtara, Deoghar, and Giridih) in Jharkhand, was held on December 20, 2019, with 70.83 % voter turnout till 5 pm.
The poll went off peacefully without any incident with very enthusiastic participation of voters including PWDs, senior citizens, youth etc. Altogether 3,690 out of 5,389 polling stations (more than 68.47%) were identified as critical and accordingly adequate security arrangements were made. One chopper was deployed to drop 62 polling personnel. The 5th phase of poll, with 237 candidates including 29 female candidates in fray, covered 40,05,287 voters, including 3,076 service voters and 50,053 PwD voters.
The approximate voter turnout for all 81 ACs across all phases of Jharkhand is 65.17%. Total value of seizures across the sate till December 20, 2019, is Rs 18.76 crore.
